Extra iPhone Not Included

Thank goodness this was free when I got it. I wondered how in the world an iPhone or iPad could possibly take a picture of something requiring backlighting. Of course, I could have read past the 30 lines or so of rave reviews and amazing features to the "Oh--you do need a second iPhone or iPad for this to work..." note. I feel smarter holding my slides up to a light bulb.

It takes two…

The fact that this app requires two devices to "scan" slides should be the first thing listed in the description. I have some slides I wanted to scan and was excited to find this app. Then I discovered that I needed another iPhone and I had to purchase another copy of the app. Dont buy unless you have two…

terrible

i want the 40 minutes and 4 bucks i blew on this back. ipad cant get bright enough. looks like you took a picture through a screen door at best.

Nice but.......

Great idea. Have saved many negatives this way. Color is a little off but other wise a great way to preserve old photos. It does have a bug though. After successfully taking some images the screen refuses to save image rotated. So what u are left with is half ur image stretched to the film size chosen. When I close app and restart it works fine again for a couple then the problem occurs again. I really enjoy this app and hope you get the bugs out for the next version.

Stopped working

Since last upgrade this app no longer works on the iPad its useless now

User

I loved this before the upgrade. I have tons of old negatives in all different odd sizes. With the upgrade, it no longer keeps proportions correct, and the resolutions seems less. It was a 5 star program, but no longer. I am SO disappointed!

my focus buttons dont work

then you need two downloads to use this

Crashs Fixed !!!!

I had the crash problem and now it is fix thanks for the update! +++++ I tested this on some old negatives and it does work. Color is a little off, other then that I like this app. Love the New Cropping.

GARBAGE! YES IM A PHOTOGRAPHER

The app does not work as they advertise at all!!!!! the pictures are blurry low resolution and the software is not fully formatted. not even worth a penny! $26 dollars for the scanner and software to do it like a pro at your house, check OfficeMax

Bunch of theives

Doesnt say in the description but you need to buy this app for two different apple products. Even then it doesnt work properly. I want my money back and I bet I dont get it.

Very pleased

The app works as advertised. Obviously, two devices are required. One with the app as a light table and the other to take the picture. Seems somebody couldnt figure that out.

Completely useless

Not only it requires two devices (which anyone with common sense can deduce) but the quality is very poor. I had the app crash three times on me the first time I was testing it (iPad 3rd Gen and iPhone 4s) Aside from the practical aspects of it ( trying to keep a film that is naturally curved flat on the iPod surface) the interface is overtly complicated for something that should be quite simple. I understand the need to make the app design appealing, but they are over thinking it. Overall a bad app. Stay away!

Junk

I tried this app with my iPad 3 and my iPhone 4s. Color does not come thru. I tried every setting to see if I could get any color out of any negative. Blue is the only color I could get. The large 220 black and white look ok. Im not impressed. I had higher hopes :(

Awesome Awesome and Awesome

First off, reality check people this is running on a phone for 1.99 and if you expect this to work like professional hardware youre far from professional or realistic. Now down to the facts, holy cow this does an awesome yes awesome job for the portability and minimal investment. Yes you need two devices running the app but guess what I have two devices. And i have to believe you could use a real light table with some practice to achieve some decent results. The designers and programmers did a great job pushing the hardware and software beautifully. Again this is being done on a couple handheld devices for buck 99 give them a break, they did a great job. I scanned multiple color slides and a range of old color negatives which it converted perfectly to color.

Amazing

This app is so fun to use and so simple.

Dont buy if you are looking to get high quality images

It does do what it says it does, but the outcome images quality is sub par. You can buy a scanner online for about $30 and the results are much better. This would work with just a white screen on iPad and just the stock camera. I would like my money back please. I use my new iPad stock camera and the white screen on my iPhone 4 and the results are not bad.

iPad first generation

I have this program on my iPod touch and downloaded it onto my iPad so I could use them as the positive and negative to get my 35mm digitally in print. But as I have attempted to open the program it attempts to open but quickly shuts down and Im back at home screen! Help please!!

This app works and rocks!!!

I bought this app for the iPad and the iPhone in 5 minutes I had 5 photos from negatives, it does what it says it does - dont expect high definition pics but that are as good as they are dependent on the quality of your negatives and the steadiness of your hands - I had acceptable results right away and as I experimented with the settings it just got better and my negatives were not in the best shape - I give this app 5 stars for ingenuity , originality and IT WORKS!!! I wouldve like to have some integrated filters for color correction maybe black and white and sepia but if you have another app like photo wizard you can further retouch your color correct exposure saturation add text a few filters etc. I do recommend this app

App Doesnt Work On Ipad 3

I am hoping you can fix this incompatibility on the next upgrade.

iPhone Required

It is stated in the description, but not blatantly, that you need to use an iPhone to capture the photos for the app to convert them. Since it is a universal app, you dont need to buy it twice, once will do for both iPad and iPhone. Hopefully the devs will enable the iPad app to take photographs as well as being just the lightbox. Many of us dont have iPhones but are part of institutions (like schools) that do have access to multiple iPads (which can take photos, ok devs?). Three stars only because the app doesnt allow you to take photos when it senses it is running on an ipad (lightbox mode is all you get in that case
